The queue with a game in it

This is a working demo of one idea from the showroom: a walk-in barber’s page where you join the queue from your phone, watch your place move, and play a small game while you wait. Have a go. Nothing you type leaves this page.

    What are you having?

    While you wait: Sweep Up

Catch the falling hair in the dustpan. Miss the scissors. Arrow keys to move.Drag, or hold the arrows.

45 seconds. Three pairs of scissors and you are out.

    The regulars

High scores this month. Beat one and your name goes up on the board, on this device only.

You will be number 7, about 35 minutes. Join?

Skin fade, £18. Pay in the shop.

      Leave the queue?

You lose your place. If you join again, you go to the back.

How it works in a real shop

      1. A QR code on the door and in the window opens this page. People join from the pavement or the pub.
      2. The barber taps Next on their phone when a chair comes free. Every ticket moves at once.
      3. A text goes out when you are two away and when you are up, so nobody loses their place by nipping out.
      4. The regulars board resets each month. The shop picks the prize; a free beard tidy for the top score works.

      Why bother

A full bench puts people off. A queue they can see from their phone does the opposite: they join, go and get a coffee, and come back on time. The game is the bit they tell their mates about.

It fits a Premium build, on the site you already have or a new one.
